I have been having vaginal discharge for a long time now. It is white mucus like. Alon with that, there is sweelling of the vulva, redness, discomfort, odor, slight burning. Which infection can it be? I have never had sexul intercourse and I am really worried about it. Embarrassed to see a doctor :/
Second; Never be ashamed of seeing a doctor for any ailment. A good doctor will never belittle you for anything that ails you that is not their purpose. There is nothing you could possibly seek there help for that they haven't most likely seen before. Even STDS which since you are not sexually active this cannot be.
It is understood that having to show your private parts to a stranger is not the easiest thing to do, even for men I would suggest you seek out a women Gynecologist which mike make it less embarrassing for you. You, when being examined, will be draped and only the doctor will see your vagina.
While your vagina is a sex organ it has an other function. Like any other part of the body it is subject to infection. When this happens you need to have it treated by a doctor not by home remedies, especially since you have waited this long. If you ever want to have children you need to have your reproduction system properly cared for by a gynecologist with annual check ups and pap smears especially once you become sexually active.
Tell your doctor you are a virgin and if your hymen is still in tact she will do the exam in such a manner as not to break you hymen unless you ask her to. Remember the hymen has a hole for your period blood to escape through.
My advice is to find a female doctor, preferable a Board Certified Gynecologist. Make an appointment and have this problem looked at. If you need help finding a doctor call your local hospitals doctor referral line. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

I've surfed the Internet regarding this and apparently , at least 75 % of women experience the same thing and i'm included in it so you're not alone ! :D My mother told me a remedy for the 'illness' and it really worked but i suggest you to see a doctor for the most specific answer . Anyway , try mixing four to five spoons of salt with water and rinse your vagina with the mixture ( A little a time or else it'll be painful . Go slow . ) Do it regularly to cleanse the private part . It takes time to heal but it will be effective .

To help prevent and treat vaginal discharge : Keep your genital area clean and dry. Avoid soap and rinse with water only. Sitting in a warm, but not hot, bath may help your symptoms. Avoid douching. Although many women feel cleaner if they douche after menstruation or intercourse, it may actually worsen vaginal discharge because it removes healthy bacteria lining the vagina that protect against infection.
Eat yogurt with live cultures or take Lactobacillus acidophilus tablets when you are on antibiotics to prevent a yeast infection.Use condoms to avoid catching or spreading sexually transmitted infection (STI).Avoid using feminine hygiene sprays, fragrances, or powders in the genital area.Avoid wearing extremely tight-fitting pants or shorts, which may cause irritation.Wear cotton underwear or cotton-crotch pantyhose.
