I am worried I am pregnant.

Question Posted Wednesday December 26 2012, 12:24 am

I might just be super paranoid, but I started having sex a few months ago with my boyfriend. We always use a condom, and as far as i know they haven't broken. I have been on the pill up until a few weeks ago, and we have only had sex twice since then, still using the condoms. I feel like i should have my period now, but i don't remember exactly when my last one was. I don't remember when i quit the pill. I have had a bit of cramping and so i thought I'd have my period, but so far it hasn't started. I'm worried that somehow i might be pregnant. What are your thoughts?
Thank you.

Rena-Chan answered Wednesday December 26 2012, 6:19 pm:
With birth control pills, they can whack up your period. When you first start, your periods are irregular, and could happen anytime. When I first started my bcp, *when I was still on it* my period was unpredictable for months. When I quit taking it, again, the same thing happened, for 3-4 months, my period was unpredictable. The hormones in the birth control are finding their way out of your system right now, and so your period may be a bit irregular for quite a while. Just give it time, and it'll straighten itself out. If you are that worried about being pregnant *which I doubt at the moment, but you never know!* I would suggest waiting for about 2 weeks, and then taking a test if your period has not yet arrived.
