Question Posted Saturday December 15 2012, 6:41 pm
What types of medicine or prescriptions can I take for my moods or emotions? Being around my family and being oppressed is toxic for me. Im in highschool and im a freshmen so of course the first year is very stressful. If I miss one friday afternoon to myself to just dance, listen to music, and relax, before the next huge week thats full of things, then Im messed up. That Newtown shooting fucked my afternoon up and I couldnt have time to myself because my sister wanted to use the tv downstairs which is my territory. I have finals next week and yesterday was the ONLY afternoon I was going to have
a time of meditation and release. And now I can't...
IM TIRED OF FEELING LIKE THIS. I GET ANGRY FAST
AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT WORKS, I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING. GETTING ANGRY AND CRYING IS REALLY STRESSFUL AND THAT GOD AWFUL GUT FEELING IS THE WORST. I want some medicine so my moods will be balanced....what do I do?

AliO22 answered Thursday December 20 2012, 4:37 pm: I have experience with mood problems and have been taking different medications for them. If you want natural solution I suggest meditation and maybe finding an outlet or your bad feelings first like painting or something. If you try this and you want further help with a prescription drug you need to see a psychologist. DO NOT just take anyone's advice when it comes to taking pills or borrowing pills from someone else! What I would suggest is telling your parents how you are feeling and making it clear to them that you think you have a problem and need help. Tell them that if you don't receive help that it could lead to serious problems. If/when they take you into a psychologist they will probably give you a diagnosis (depression, bipolar, anxiety, or something like that). Then, they will prescribe you medication. Ask as many questions as yo can about your diagnosis and the medication they give you. Know the side effects and warnings of the meds and WHY they are giving them to you. Also, understand what the diagnosis is, what it means, the symptoms, and why they thought you displayed this diagnoses. Then reach out to other people with your disorder. I can provide you with websites that you can talk to people about it if you would like. Learn as much as you can. I wish I would have earlier. Hope this helped. Good luck :) [ AliO22's advice column | Ask AliO22 A Question ]
