flexi01 answered Wednesday August 29 2012, 12:45 pm:
It doesnt really mean anything, it is perfectly normal. My first 6 period cycles were brown and a dark red and never changed until my 7th when it turned bright red. Dont worry, you may have an irregular period and its nothing to worry about.

If you started your period, and it is a dark color, or brown, it is typically just blood from your last menstrual cycle finally leaving your body. It's perfectly normal. Many if not all women get this. It is nothing to be alarmed about.
