Ok so I'm 14 and I have a "best friend" that's 14 also named jake ok well I'm trying to find out if he is a true best friend. So we have a pretty fun friendship, we hang out ALOT. About every 3 days we have fun play video games just do fun normal things but the thing that I think is that when you have a best friend you guys talk about everything we don't really talk about everything at least we don't talk about personal things like who we like and stuff like that and tonight I brought up the subject about like If he ever needed to talk to me about anything and he was like "ok" or something I mean he doesn't really have any CLOSE friends I can't explain it but we has lots if friends JUST FRIENDS and he hangs out with me the most and I really want him to be like my true friend that I talk about everything about I mean what can I do? I think he wants a friend like that too but maybe he won't admit it.and another thing I asked him why we even became friends because we have nothing in common he is my almost complete opposite and so I asked him "why do you hang out with me we have like nothing in common or anything" and he said "idk" I mean how does our friendship stand? What can I do to improve it? Is it worth carrying on?

Rena-Chan answered Saturday July 28 2012, 8:52 am: Perhaps your friend is the type that doesn't share what's buggin them. All you can do is be supportive and do what you are able to to keep him happy or get him through it. I have several friends, and even best friend who never tells me whats wrong. Sure I ask, but if he won't tell me, I can't make him. I figure in time he'll tell me what has bothered him, but for now, I just enjoy hanging out with the bugger ^_^ Just give your friend time. When he's ready to talk, I'm sure he'll go to you. Until then, be supportive and be there for him. [ Rena-Chan's advice column | Ask Rena-Chan A Question ]
