Possibility of pregnancy..

Question Posted Wednesday June 20 2012, 12:25 pm

I am on birth control, however started my new pack 2 days late(started Tuesday instead of Sunday after my period) I made up the missed pills as directed. The. I had unprotected sex on Sunday, and was concerned so I took plan b on Monday around 630 pm. I am now due for my period, and am having cramps, but haven't started. Am I pregnant or is it jut side effects from plan b?

I doubt it. It sounds like you did all the right things to do to prevent a pregnacy. What really matters is where in you cycle you ovulate. That is when you are most likely to conceive. In most women it is in the middle of ther cycle sometime around the 14th day; though it can be earlier.

As I said I doubt you are pregnant but a home pregnancy test should tell you one way or the other. If it is positive take another one. If that is also positive see a doctor for a chemical test.

Just a side note: Always have your partner use a condom. Not just for pregnancy prevention but to protect yourself from STDs and Aids. While condoms do not protect you from all STDs they do protect you from many. It matters not how well you know the guy or how long you have been going together. Until you have both been tested and in a monagomus relationship it is safety first. Unprotected sex means that you are both having sex with all the past partners you both have had unprotected sex with.
