Sadness of Long Distance Relationship

Question Posted Tuesday June 12 2012, 7:27 pm

My boyfriend who lives far away, recently got onto my im on my email. When I said hello, he said hi back but not like he usually does. When I asked him what was wrong he said "everything" . What can I do to cheer him up since i won't ever get to see him and i do not have a webcam. He's 15 and I'm 14 btw.

Thank you.

From experience long distant relationships are impossible to work out. The most honest answer I can give you is to talk to him about the reality side of it. You are both young and cannot waste your youth sitting and praying for something to happen when you are far apart. A long distant relationship is almost no different then an online relationship, It is a fantasy. Inless you both are comitted to seeing each other every weekend and making living arrangement in the near future then the best thing would be to let him go and stop prolonging pain. Be his friend from a distance but set boundaries. Being a friend means respecting him while he learns to except the truth as you will in time as well
