I've been diagnosed with scabies and have taken six 3mg ivermectin (stromectol) tablets prescribed to me but I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes the itching to go away. I am still a but itchy tonight and I took these about 3 hours ago. Thanks

They gave you tablets instead of an ointment or a body wash to remove yourself of these? I would suggest speaking with your doctor and asking about any ointments or w/e to remove your body of the scabies mite. Either that, or be patient and hope that this medication works. Also, in order to fully rid yourself of scabies, be sure to wash EVERYTHING in hot water. Anything you've touched can and could be infested with these little monsters. (My brother and his family got scabies a few years back) The instructions given to him was to wash everything in hot water, as well as apply an ointment that was given to them to their skin. Within a few days they were better. [ Rena-Chan's advice column | Ask Rena-Chan A Question ]
