Started my birth control and period ended.

I started my birth control pills the sunday after I started my period. . well the next day my period ended. why is this?

birth control has a hormone in it that tells your body that it is pregnant, but they only symptom of pregnancy that you might have is water weight gain. that's why its used as a contraceptive.
that's also why the birth control tells you to start it after your period ends. as far as i know, ending your period by taking birth control early isn't harmful to your health. just be sure to take the birth control every day so you can get your period on the designated date.
