How do I break up with him without hurting him?

Question Posted Thursday March 15 2012, 5:43 pm

Ok so 13/f and I have a boyfriend that I might break up with. He hasnt done anything wrong but I think I might like another guy and I dont want to hurt my boyfriend. How do I be mature about a break up. He is my first boyfriend and I hope not my last. I was thinking of saying something like this..
"Im sorry but I dont want to hurt you by saying this but I dont think we should continue to date. However, I really want to be mature about it and I know it'll be hard but I just want to be friends. I just feel like our relationship hasnt gone anywhere from where it started out. I hope your not mad and I want you to understand. Im really sorry about this and I dont want to be one of those people who just continues a relationship even though they arent attracted to the person. I hope u understand"
Is that good? I dont know what else to say. This came from my heart and its all true. Opinions? advice? thanx!

Sweety, there is absolutely no way to break up with someone without hurting that person. No matter how nice you say it or word it nicely, it'll hurt.
