What are the causes of the current national economic situation? how does it compare to the great depression? who should get the blame? what has been done or is being done to help solve these problems? do you think they will work? why? what do you think should be done? why?

This is, in my opinion, the best place to start. There are 100s of other documentaries out there that are worth watching, but many of them will be more easily understood if you already have this one under your belt.
