Can you use home LED teeth whitening kits if you have an artificial tooth?

Question Posted Sunday March 4 2012, 6:53 pm

I know you can't get your teeth professionally whitened, and I was wondering if it's the same technology thats in the at home led whitening kits. I dont have a full artificial tooth, i just chipped one of my teeth and got it filled and the dentist told me the filled part has a different porosity than natural teeth so it would be a different color than my real teeth. Thanks!

As it will not harm your artificial tooth/teeth, it will NOT whiten them either. So depending on the location of your artificial tooth, I would suggest taking caution when using the whitener on your teeth as your natural teeth will whiten, while your artificial tooth/teeth will stay the same color, causing them to stand out more.
