Is it safe to receive oral sex if the girl has had a cold sore?
Recently my friend and I have been getting closer and becoming more than friends. The problem is that when we were just friends I remembered that she had had a cold sore. It's not there now, but I heard that cold sores are always there and are contagious. I don't know if I should let her perform oral sex on me. Could someone please explain to me if I should be worried or not.

No it is not safe.
Cold sores are a form of herpes. You can get theme on any part of your body. Just as you can get genital herpes on your face, you can get the strain that causes cold sores on your genitals. :-(
Yes, they are contagious even when there isn't an outbreak (sores.)
They are also for life.
