opinion about Software Engineering

what is your opinion about Software Engineering ?i mean,do you think it's good ,not so good or what... for studyi at university.
and what do you recommend ?thanks in advance.

My dad is a software engineer/computer programmer.
he got his associates at Pen state.

this profession and the job you attain base off two things:

how good you are at it(if you're good enough, you don't need much schooling)

experience. a lot of places hire based off how long you've been doing it.
