Deleted SMS text messages still showing up in iPhone search

Question Posted Friday December 23 2011, 11:38 am

I typed in "Dave" on my iPhones search bar (where it searches your entire phone.) And it pulled up his contact info and then some texts messages that had his name in it. I then started searching key words like "look", "vacation", things I know we texted to eachother, and it pulled up the text messages. The only thing that is strange, is I deleted those text messages. How long does the iPhone search keep text messages in that history? And can they be recovered? Just curious....

I don't know much about iPhones, but a similar thing happened to me with my blackberry. Sometimes, I would delete messages and they would still show on the phone. It might just be a problem with your specific phone. If it's too much of a problem, you could try bringing your phone in to your carrier and have them look at it. Hope I helped
