18 year old female, vaginal smells.

Question Posted Tuesday December 13 2011, 3:41 pm

Okay so I just recently started college and I never had any problems with vaginal odors until then. I wear yoga pants basically every day without underwear. There is always residue in my pants and an EXTREMELY strong smell. Sometimes it smells like pee, so I started wiping extremely throughly, but I still smell really bad. I don't know what to do because if my legs are ever spread apart I can smell it. I'm worried about my boyfriend going down on me because I hate how it smells, but he doesn't really notice I guess. I HATE how it smells. It's making me so self conscious. I bought some feminine wash hoping to help, but it's done absolutely nothing.

What can I do?

You must wear underwear, We sweat down there. Not wearing underwear will allow yourself to smell worse because you have no protection as you are exposed.

If you wear thongs or lace, Skip it

Lace is known to attract odor, Try using 100% cotton

Also, If the smell is so strong that you are noticing it when you have pants on then you should see a doctor. Vagina are supposed to have a more natural scent anything of strong odor needs to be addressed to a OBGYN as you could have an infection.

This is common in some women, It can easily be treated. We cannot give you a diagnosis as we aren't doctor but I found the information pretty interesting.

Until you see a doctor I would try switching soaps. If you are using scented try using a natural soap and see if you notice a difference but in the meantime wear underwear that may help so it's not as strong.
