How long did you have the piercing?
I had one lip piercing, took it out not long after and it's completely gone.
Yet I've had another in for about 8 months and you can still see it.
I suggest buying Bio Oil, so you can massage it into your scar a few times a day. It does actually reduce the appearance of scars - tried and tested! but you have to keep up the regime or you won't notice any changes.
