Taking care of a wig

Question Posted Thursday October 13 2011, 10:30 pm

Hello, I just recently ordered a wig for a costume and it's about to the base of my neck and it came with two seperate pigtails that touch my ankles. Unfortunately, when I took it out of the package to hang it up, one of them fell and now is tangled up so terribly and I tried to brush it, but so much hair is falling out and it's making me nervous. Is there any way to brush tangles out of it without ripping out huge wads of hair? (I tried spray in conditioner, but it made it sort of sticky...)

Comb, not brush, from bottom to top. Gradually go up until you're at the scalp.

There's a brush called the 'tangle teezer'. Its available all around the world, and its really good to help get tangles out of hair. Here's the website: just click on your country and it shows you all the authorised stockists:
