Leaky rectum?

Question Posted Saturday September 3 2011, 8:08 am

This is really embarrassing and I'm not ready to talk to my Doctor about it, I am just hoping one of you on this site maybe has the same issue and/or can give me some idea as to what is going on.. Google didn't help either, or maybe I wasn't searching right.

So, this has happened for a while now. After I have bowel movement, I wash my rear end, just to keep things clean and I wipe dry too. I know moisture in that area creates bacteria etc.
The things is, for some reason, feces seem to leak from my anus. This is what I think. Because I can feel the moisture there and when I go to the toilet and wipe down there, there is some fecal matter. This never used to happen, until recently.
Please help. It is kind of freaking me out.
Oh by the way, I am not sexually active, no anal sex or anything.

19/f

i'v had a problem like this before.sometimes it's from diarrhea.and sometimes may have the same affect on a solid stool. i'v even experienced blood but that's because i had inflammation.what you could do is go see a doctor. and see about a prostate exam.

If you are worried about this, honestly do not be worried about seeing a doctor, they will help you, and build your confidence up once the issue is fixed. Frome experience, showing or telling the doctor somthing embaressing is really not nice or comfortable, but you have to realise that to them you are just another case and that although it is embaressing for you, doctors see this kind of thing all the time :) Don't stress either, im sure there is nothing to worry about here but its always good to get it checked out just in case and also for fixing the problem, good luck

Is there also some clear, slightly thick mucus associated with the fecal matter? If so, this happens to me sometimes! I'm not sure if there is anything "wrong" with you, though. Do you stress really hard when you use the restroom? I do, and I'm thinking that may be the cause - also, do you take a lot of baths? Sometimes bathing can cause excess fluid to enter your anus, become trapped, and will leak out when you exert yourself in any way (running, etc). Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless it happens A LOT (several times a day) and the amount that is being excreted is excessive.
