Advice about burning home videos on DVDs.

My computer doesn't seem to recognize a blank DVD-R. Once I put the DVD in, nothing happens. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to deal with this problem?

What kind of computer is it, if I knew maybe I could help you. Something else, might be that due to the age of your computer things tend to stop working, another thing is if you dropped it on the floor, a number of times, it could have stopped working, but i can't really help you unless I know the kind of computer because maybe that computer doesn't know how to read CD's.
