How can I convince my mom to let me get gauges?
Every time I ask "mom, can I get gauges" she always yells "NO"!!!! If I ask "why not" all she says is "because I said no". If you are going to ask....... I'm 13 years old...... and please don't say I'm too young.... I have thought long and had about this,and have decided that I really want them. I know everything I need to know about them, like how to clean them, and take care of them so they won't get infected. I don't really want big ones..... like a 12 gauge?? Or mabeye a little bigger?? But not too big. So please, how can I convince her to let me get them??

Ok you saying 12 gauge you really don't know that much about gauges. I wouldn't advise it but I'm 13 also and my bottom piercing is a 12g and I'm stretching my top to a 12g and my mom hasn't noticed. It's not that noticeable. I wouldn't advise it if your parents check your ears a lot or if you plan on going bigger, I though do plan on telling my mom what I've done and talking to her about my style chooses. Anyway as long as you don't skip sizes and don't make it obvious you should be able to go to at least a 14g or 12g without her knowing.

I don't have a 13 year old yet, but I can tell you that in 13 years if my kid comes and asks me for gauges my response will be "you can get them when you don't have to ask my permission to get them legally" and my response to why will probably be "because I said so" as well.
Sometimes parents just view something as unacceptable for someone your age and don't see the need to allow you unlimited freedom to express yourself at 13. You won't change that, so instead stop trying to figure this out, bide your time, and bring it up in the future when you want something else and you can throw out there "well you told me I couldn't gauge my ears and I accepted that, can't you be a little more reasonable" to sweeten the pot for some other future conflict.

As a former tattoo artist you legally need to be 18 to be able to pierce things on your own.
You would need your mothers permission in order to get it done, The best way to be convincing is to maybe take some responsibly around the house and do some ass kissing.
Anyway.....I'm just going to say it. Gauges are probably the most unattractive piercings I've ever experienced.....

If you're going to get gauges, you should get real gauges! Anything under 00 is a disgrace to plugs. Everyone is getting them, especially little kids that complain about the pain. I'm not bagging on you 'cause of your age but I will tell you, if you need to ask permission to get them and are very worried about your mom then just don't get them. You could defy your moms words, which is usually what everyone does to get them at your age. I was 16 when I got mine, I'm now going to be 18 in October and I'm now at an inch. I'm going to get up to an 1" 1/8 very pretty. My parents didn't like 'em but no one really does, no one will understand why people do any sort of body mod, just do what you like. So as they say it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. A few things to know it does hurt but pain is all bout mental thinking, they smell if you don't clean 'em. Don't use tapers, they can blow out your ears easily, lubricate 'em before stretching people say not to skip sizes, but I did a lot actually, you can usually skip all the small sissy sizes up to 3/4. Big ones are awesome! If you're going to get plugs get to a big size, I'd say 3/4 is decent. But it's still very small.
