gel nails? / acrylic

Question Posted Friday July 22 2011, 10:44 pm

I was wondering if I bought the gel stuff the nail shops put on your nails (what they put on every 2 weeks) would make my nail polish stay on longer?

Nail polish does last longer on the fake nails they put on you at the salon, but it is not easy to apply on yourself.

You would need to buy the acrylic powder, the liquid solvent, the brush, the oil they use on your cuticles, and you would need a drill system to shape it. If you are talking about gels, then you need a UV light source.

And you usually can't just paint over your nails, thats why they glue on a fake tip to start you off.

If you are talking about the 'gel' top coat they apply after your nails are done, this can be bought but again, you need a UV light to cure it.

Good luck,

-Abby
