I'm 19 years old and I'm planning on moving to Kentucky with my boyfriend at the end of this summer. I live in rhode island now and have lived here my whole life. We're moving because my boyfriend and his dad received a really great job offer down there.
So, my question is what is it like to live in Kentucky? I'm ire I'm going to be in for a huge culture shock once i get there so I just want to know what the people are like, their life style, etc.
Thank you! :)

There are really hot summers when it's fun to go swimming or to the lake to cool down. The winters are cold, and usually there is a lot of snow fall. There is also Spring which is extremely windy here, and this year it rained a lot. Then Fall which is beautiful because of the leaves.
The people here are really nice, Kentucky isn't in the south or the north completely but there is definitely the southern hospitality. Now I don't know if you all are moving to a city such as Lexington, Winchester, Mt.Sterling, etc. but there's lots of shopping and restraunts in those places, especially Louisville. Also Horse races ( what we are famous for)and they're a lot of fun.
If you plan on moving into a county on the outskirts in Eastern KY there are a lot of "bible belts" as we call them where there is a church on every corner.
I think you will like it, it's different every state you go to but KY is friendly, and there is plenty to do here. [ cheryl_diamond's advice column | Ask cheryl_diamond A Question ]
