Good Museums in Florida?

Question Posted Monday June 20 2011, 9:01 pm

I am looking for either REALLY good art and/or historical museums in or around the palm beach, florida area. By 'good', i mean like the huge museums in chicago and atlanta, with mummies or about a war, or with great and very famous artists' pieces. THANK YOU :)

Let Serge be your guide to Florida, lost sheep. Florida is one GIANT museum. under every rock, behind every tree, in every multimillionaire's pool, there is a great story waiting for you to discover and cherish...

this wasn't hard to find.
There are few states that can claim as much history as florida has(who gives a damn about nebraska?!). in addition, I suggest the following:
1- if you go to saint petersburg, visit the salvadore dali museum. its right by the historical district, and is really kickass.
2- read the novels of Tim Dorsey. his Serge A. Storms series is basically a guided historical tour of florida. lots of comedy, and the tour guide is a complete psychopath

good luck on your adventures in the sunshine state!
