Pineapples hurt my mouth! Help!?

Question Posted Saturday June 11 2011, 12:58 am

I ate a pineapple yesterday (the real ones, like in Hawaii) and now the corners of my mouth hurt! How do I make it stop? Why do pineapples make your mouth hurt?

Is it possible you didn't take the outer skin off? It's rough, and you aren't supposed to eat it, though I feel that is common knowledge. If you did remove it, maybe you had a cut in your mouth and some acidity got into the wound. Maybe the pieces you cut were just too big, and your mouth was too small (oh my God that sentence..).

I really couldn't tell you to why the pineapple made your mouth hurt.

However, It is possible that maybe you could be allergic.
