Mood-swings are pretty common during your period. As long as it does not greatly impact your day-to-day life, it's nothing to worry about. However, if it does, you could have Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PDMM). Basically, this disorder is a severe case of PMS. The symptoms are much more harsher, and often include extreme mood-swings. A doctor can prescribe you birth control to treat PDMM, if you are, in fact, diagnosed with this by a medical professional (and not an Advicenator).

well you should first know that no girl's period is the same. So don't freak out if no girl has the same symptoms as you. They don't have the same body as you so most likely its different for every girl. Maybe that's just the way your body works. Who knows? Go to a doctor and ask them about it because they will have more professional answers instead of us. It could just be that you're suffering with a minor depression but when you get your period, your hormones go crazy and you get a burst of epinephrine (adrenaline) and endorphins and you get happier. I think you're alright considering its nothing too serious, its not like you're in any danger or risk.
