Hey, I did some pretty extensive searching, and the best I could find was a couple companies who offer block letter embroidery and it wasn't very big; definitely NOT what you're looking for.

Just from what I know about embroidery (my mom's a pretty avid seamstress/sewing addict) it's wicked complicated, expensive, time-consuming, etc. Plus, it makes the back of things scratchy, at least by blanket standards.

Have you considered making it yourself? You can buy a fleece blanket almost anywhere these days. LL Bean, Kohl's, Target, etc. And forest green shouldn't be a difficult color to find; I found it on almost every site I encountered.

A couple ideas you could try:
- Buy stick-on felt (or regular, whatever you can find) and trace/cut out letters that are the height you want. The adhesive isn't suited to being on a blanket, so sewing along the edges will probably be required.
- Buy scraps/remnants of fabric and cut out letters the same way. If you do this, you could stuff the letters like you would a quilt, making it puffy.

Do you know anyone who does screen printing on t-shirts? They might be able to do something similar for a blanket, and would know what to use on fleece fabric.

Good luck, and remember that making something homemade makes a gift even more personal :)
