Cell phone costing..

So i have a friend in illinois & i live in florida. I just wanted to know if it would cost anything. And if it does would it cost more or less with the same/different carrier. Like i have verizon. Say he has sprint or at&t. Would it cost money?

Uhm. To call or text? No, it shouldn't cost extra. Just call when it's free minutes. I have verizon and I only really will call anyone after 9pm or on weekends. If you have unlimited texting, it won't matter, not that texting someone in a different state would even cost more..
