So my prom is coming up.. in 1 week to be exact. I'm a senior in high school and lets just say I don't have many friends. I'm not really sure why not. I'm kinda the girl who gets picked last when its time to pick teams for games.
Anyways, on with the story. so prom is next week and last year's prom was ok. Its my senior prom and I really want it to be amazing. I want the whole experience. being in a big group, taking lots of pictures with friends, being in a limo or party bus, going to an afterparty. all of those things I didnt get to experience last year. And i know to you it may sound childish and selfish but its really important to me. I'm going off to college in a few months and there aren't any Prom's in college. This will technically be the only time I will get to experience something like this and I want it to be amazing.
SO.. I talked to my friend Nicole and she said I (and my date) could be in her group. Well we made these plans about 2 weeks ago and just today I texted her and said "do you know any details about prom yet? like if we are getting a party bus and when are pictures?" and she replies "you can come to pictures but the party bus is already full"... so pretty much she's kicking me out of the group.. (This was all during school) so I went to my boyfriend and told him and I got so mad and frustrated that I just started crying..
I know I may sound like a drama queen or whatever but this year's prom really means a lot to me. I'm always that girl who nobody knows. I want to stand out and be part of something special. I want to feel beautiful in my dress and I want to look back at this thinking "wow that was a great night" but all i see right now is a disaster... I'm just so frustrated. I already have a million things on my mind like I have to go spray tanning and I need to get my hair done and get my nails done etc etc ect.. the last thing I need on my mind right now is more stress.. My boyfriend said he would help and try to find another group to go with, but I'm not sure if any more groups are willing to let us in, considering prom is next week!!!
helppp!!! I just wanted this prom to be special :( but now it sounds like its going to go downhill :( please. this really means a lot to me.. I wish my mom was here to help me but she moved to Europe for work and I don't have any other friends that can help me out.

Anyways, MY senior prom is a week away as well, and im a guy and i havent asked anybody. My girlfriend dumped me last week, so now im not interested in going. And i have nobody to ask.
but in your case.........
YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND.
So what is the problem? Why you stressing out over having a big group and being all exclusive and shit????? Just go with you boyfriend, dance with him, take pics with him, and have a good time! I really dont get why you are stressing out over all this materialistic shit.... sorry if i sound rude, but. If i was in your case, (which i am not) i would be so grateful to have somebody in a relationship that i could actualy spend my prom with. But for me, i HAVE NOBODY. And im still not thinking of it as a disaster. Honey, its a highschool prom, its not like you are having a disaster at GRADUATION. All you ever need is that diploma, that one sheet of paper. Who gives about prom, gradnight, etc. They're all just side stuff about senior year.
Girl, you have a boyfriend and he is already your date. Go to the dance with him and just him only and have a great time. Okay? :) [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
