Promise Ring. Is it to soon?

Question Posted Thursday May 5 2011, 8:47 pm

So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 5 months now. (I'm a girl by the way.) I want a promise ring and he wants to get me one. but, is it to soon to commit? We've known each other for about 2 years now and he knows more about me than I do. Is it too soon?

Your chances of marrying your high school sweetheart are just about nil because your outlook is going to evolve so much over the next decade. You aren't going to be the same people at 25 you are at 15. I would leave all the jewelry out of it. Guys hate buying it anyway, no matter what they tell you (and they usually don't have the guts to say so).

It's never too soon to make a promise you're not going to keep.

Only you can answer that. But if youre questioning whether or not you're ready to commit, chances are you're not. it's not a logical choice. It's an emotional one.
Go with what you feel and have faith in your decisions. No one but you can tell you if you're ready or if its too soon.

There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to relationships. If it feels right for you and it feels right for him then go for it. Hell, my parents were married after 5 months.
