is this possible for the iPhone?

Question Posted Friday March 11 2011, 1:01 pm

As of right now i have AT&T but i'm switching to verizon. I saw a commercial that if you have AT&T you can purchase the iPhone for 49.99. I was wondering if i can buy it now and then when i switch to verizon still keep the phone and just switch plans. Can you do that? Thanks!

You can switch to other network but not Verizon . AT&T iPhones are GSM phones but the Verizon is CDMA network .so,you can't use the AT&T iPhone for Verizon network. But,If you unlock the carrier lock of the AT&T iPhone it can be used with other GSM networks like T-Mobile. If you want to unlock the carrier lock of the iPhone visit the site Unlock-Zone.com or follow the link [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) . They provide remote unlock service to unlock the carrier lock of the iPhone .

They don't use the same service. These two companies are battling for customers. Verizon wouldn't want you to use an AT&T phone when you can buy one of theirs. The AT&T version of the iphone is way better anyway so you might want to consider staying.

The reason why the iphone is so popular is because you can be on the phone and use data or internet at the same time. You can't do that with the Verizon network.

No, you have to sign a new 2 year contract with Verizon. They will make you pay however much their iPhone is.
