Panda Sceurity urlseek20.vmn - not in add/remove programs

Question Posted Monday February 28 2011, 2:58 pm

On my home desktop computer i run Windows XP.

I kept getting redirected to this page which says "Sorry, we can't find [insert web address here]. Please check the spelling of the web address." it even happens when clicking on google links. The thing is.. on my laptop, the same web addresses work fine.

It says down the bottom, you can disable domain adviser (which seems to be whats doing the redirect) by going into add/remove programs from control panel.

The funny part is.. when i went into add/remove programs, its not in the list. How can i remove a program that doesn't seem to exist?

Hi there,

This doesn't usually show up under its right name. Look for ANYTHING in the add/remove programs list with the word "Toolbar" in the name, and remove it unless it is something you are CERTAIN you want.

It could also be disguised as a game client, or something else entirely. Have you run both of the tools I gave in this answer:

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

...? If not, that is the place to start. Both tools classify this as malware, so you should find some success there.

Remember: While you are in add/remove programs, look for anything that you are sure you did not install and remove them.

Good luck.
