Art work and Copywrite

Question Posted Sunday February 20 2011, 10:24 pm

I would like to know what I need to do as far as getting ready to sell my art work. I think it sounds absurd that that I would have to get each and every single piece copyrighted before I can sell them, is that what I am really supposed to do or is there a way that my signature means something or do I have to get my signature copyrighted or what? What do I have to do to make sure my art work stays my art work after someone buys it or sees it online. Thanks.

Hi there,

To take the mystery out of copyright, please go here:

... This was meant to be understood by anyone over the age of about 13, and it really breaks things down pretty clearly.

As for your signature, I believe that would fall under trademarks and that is something else entirely.
