I am a 13 year old girl, and I have a lot of hair in a certain area "down there." It's very long, coarse and bushy and it makes me feel disgusting all day. I don't want to shave it because it'll come back twice as fast, but it always makes me uncomfortable and sometimes even itchy! What should I do?

It is going to be there your whole life now because you've hit the stageof puberity. Its normal every girl goes through it and its just the way of life. It may be weird but talk to your mom about it and tell her your uncomfy with it being there. But you have to know it is going to come back once you shave it so its going to be a routine atleast once every week or 2 weeks for you since your so young and it wont grow as fast when you shave it occasionally. Hope this helped!

Shaving it convenient but even if you use ph balanced, perfume-free shaving cream, an extra sharp and clean razor and shave correctly, you'll still be left with an extent of razor burn, as well as it growing back faster and thicker as you've previously stated.
Hair removal cream is rather effective and the growth rate is about the same as shaving as both methods dont remove the root but the cream leaves a smooth surface. The down side is that it's only appropriate for the bikini line.
It you want it all gone, smooth surface and not a hair in sight then your best option is waxing which you have to do less frequently than the other methods of hair removal. If you can endure the pain then it's worth it.
The only permenant solution is expensive laser hair removal. [ WingYan's advice column | Ask WingYan A Question ]

If you do decide you want to start shaving regularly, make sure you use a new razor that you don't use on any other part of your body. Shave in the shower, use soap first and then apply the shaving cream. That seems to cut down on the stubble and the itchy feeling. I hope this helps and good luck.
