Question Posted Saturday February 12 2011, 9:28 am
I'm 17 years old, and i haven't gotten my period yet this month. I should of gotten it a few days ago, because i got it november 9th, december 10th, and january 8th. it is pretty regular now. today is february 12th and i still have not gotten it, but i had cramps this past week and i've been emotional. i had sex for the first time with my boyfriend in january but i've never had sex without a condom. i took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. could the fact that i haven't gotten my period yet be because of stress? i also heard that when you have sex it changes your cycle. could that also be why i haven't gotten it?

But sometimes periods are late or go haywire. Not to be weird, but mine sure is. Mine's all over the place, never on time so I can't even track. I tried for the first time in like 4 years about a month ago and it was late and I was beginning to think I was like the Virgin Mary! If it doesn't come, read up on the signs, watch for nauseousness early in the morning especially. If you had sex with a condom you should be fine. Just keep real close watch, keep taking pregnancy tests if you have to and don't have sex until you're sure your periods is just late. [ Ashtonbbydoll's advice column | Ask Ashtonbbydoll A Question ]

Unless the test was one designed to pick up pregnancy hormones early, take another one in a few days just to be on the safe side. The chances are slim though so try not to worry.
If you're going to be having regular sex with your boyfriend, consider using another form of contraception (such as the Pill, implant, coil etc) along with the condoms to be extra safe. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
