I ordered a couple of things off of a reliable website. I got a pair of shoes and some leggings for winter. The merchant split the package into two separate shipping boxes and shipped the leggings separate from the shoes (for whatever reason). The leggings arrived UPS four days after I made the order. The shoes, which we ordered at the exact same time, are being shipped through FedEx SmartPost and it's been 7 days now. The estimated shipping arrival date has changed from 1/05/2011 to 1/10/2011! HUGE difference! Then, to top that off, it left one of their sorting facilities TWO days ago and hasn't been logged in as being anywhere now. Two days ago it was only a few hours away from my address! So, now I'm all confused why it hasn't arrived, the estimated arrival date has lengthened greatly, and nobody has tracked where it might possibly be in two days. Does anyone else have experience like this? I'm asking because I don't know if it's normal, as it's my very first time using FedEx for anything. Should I give FedEx a phone call about this or bite my tongue and wait it out?
There are many reasons why you may not have received it. They include the sender having the wrong postal code, wrong state or province and more than one street with same name. Also, if the address isn't exact or legible that screws up everything. I've had this happen.
Call the merchant first and explain the situation to them. They can pull up your account instantly and the tracking number and lay into FedEX about it.
Being unable to track it at all makes no sense.
See what they can do as I know they can ship a replacement by a different source for you or reverse charges. Another important thing you didn't consider is Christmas and New Years. All packages halt for several days because of that. I would bet that's the issue more so than anything else. Either way pick up the phone.
