I'm really ugly... suggestions please? Thanks!

Question Posted Sunday December 19 2010, 9:53 pm

Okay, so I'm an eleven year old girl.I have an uneven skin tone, but for the most part I have cinnamon brown skin, with brown eyes and black hair. I have acne, oily skin, and a huge nose. I'm really tall ( 5 feet 5 and a half inches) and I'm kind of a nerd. I'm not looking for sympathy, but can you please help me? I'd like some clothing and makeup suggestions(my school has a dress code, we have to wear collared shirts and no jeans)
By the way I don't really get an allowance and I'm kind of broke.
Thank you!

How dare you call yourself ugly! You aren't and are only so in your thinking. Change what you think about yourself inside and start seeing your inner beauty. You'll never be happy with your outer beauty until you do. It's connected.

I'm not the best person for fashion tips but you don't need an elaborate wardrobe to make you feel beautiful anyway. I'm sure another female on here will have tips so I'm going to address another part of your question.

You don't need to have oily skin any longer or acne. What you need to do is see a family doctor or dermatologist and tell them how bad your self-esteem is over this.

They will give you a prescription cream (and you need this and not store bought solutions) that will eat away at what causes it and make it a thing of the past.

I know doctor's visits cost money in the U.S. so usually they'll cut a kid a break and give them some samples. But once you get on this your face will clear up and if that's all that it takes to make you feel beautiful that's great.

Okay, first of all, you're not ugly. You're 11 years old, and everything you describe is normal. I was a geeky, acne prone kid, too, and I ended up working as a model for 5 years, lol. "Ugly" kids do not exist.

Now, about your skin...there's a soap called Pears, and it's really cheap ($1 a bar). It's gentle enough to use three or four times a day, won't cause breakouts, and strips out excess oils without causing your face to flake off. Use it twice a day, with warm water and a cool rinse. It'll help, trust me.

Uneven skin tone can be fixed with a cheap Vitamin C mask (which is good for acne, too). Or, you can make a skin bleach using potato water-look up natural skin bleach on eHow for directions.

Your "big" nose can be slimmed down by using a shade of makeup just barely darker than your skin tone. Place a dot of makeup on each side of your nose, and blend it to make a shadow on either side. If that looks too fake for you, wear your hair in a bob or other face framing shape, to draw attention to your eyes instead. You can accent your eyes with very little makeup-just a liner and mascara is enough at your age!

Good luck, darlin'. Don't let anyone tell you that you're ugly.
