ok i need help doing my homework. i wouldnt normally do this i HATE copying/askin for help/using other people ideas but im actually so stuck.
ive just got my marks back and this is the stuff i have to do
We are studying intreinsic and extrinsic risk factors. and im stuck on two of my intrinsic factors
diet. how could i prevent injury by having a good diet. Meaning what mesures could i do? i said keep a food diary but my lecturer wants more action plans. and i ant think of any.
also preperation. how can injury through poor preperation be prevented? iw rote by good training but what else?
diet can prevent injury because if you eat more fruits and veggies, you get more calcium and nutrients. the nutrients are good for your body because they help build up your immune system, so you don't get as sick as often. that's why you take a vitamin C tablet every day, so you don't get sick. And that's also why there's a saying that goes- an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Take calcium as an example. calcium is found in milk and other stuff. if you drink a lot of milk, it gives you a boost of energy and makes your bones stronger-- aka less prone to injuries.
i am a milk whore. i drink milk every single day. my parents joke about buying me a cow for my birthday. and guess what? i haven't broken a bone in my body and i'm 18.
i'm going to assume you mean "preparing for injuries". by preparing yourself/training, you can prevent injuries. say for example, you don't want to twist an ankle.. there are exercises used to strengthen your ankles, so that way they won't get harmed. training your body is training your muscles. its something called "muscle memory". if you want to achieve doing the splits, your TRAIN yourself and teach yourself how to do it, eventually you'll be able to do it because your muscles will recognize that its not unusual to them anymore since you have been training for it. aka- muscle memory.
another example would be preparing for knee injuries. if you're in a sport that requires a lot of jumping, you might have knee problems because according to psychics, what goes up must come down. when you jump up, and come back down, you're putting all of your body weight onto your knees. if you jump on 1 leg, its very bad for you because you're putting ALL of your body weight on that one knee! preparing yourself not to get knee injuries can be explained as doing some squats and jumps, making sure you land softely and safely.
most people have personal trainers if they are a big athelte. personal trainers are the people who "prepare" yourself to prevent injuries and help you stay healthy.
