My dad was talking to me about learning a musical instrument. He is really big into music and learned to play all sorts of instruments while he was growing up. He said it's really helped him "grow as a person" and that he'd be willing to buy me an instrument if I was interested. The only instrument I can think of to play is the guitar. For those of you who already play the guitar, do you think I should learn, too? I mean, is it really that enjoyable and helpful in life or is my dad a little crazy? :P

Learning to play an instrument is never a waste of time and can be very enjoyable, for a lifetime. Guitar is an excellent choice.
Just be very patient. No one learns to play an instrument so they can annoy their friends with bad renditions of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", but that part of the journey. [ bliz's advice column | Ask bliz A Question ]
