How Many Breaks Are You Supposed To Get at Work? Labor Laws?

18/f, i work at mcdonalds. in the state of New York, what is required for breaks? i know after 6 hours, you get a 30 minute break, but is there anything else?

Definitely one lunch break. After each six hour period you get 20 minutes from what I could figure out and based on prior experience with similar job.

When you get the breaks is up to the employer and should be mentioned in any contract they had you sign. If in doubt talk to the manager at your next shift and tell him/her that you're really unclear on when you can take breaks, how long and what the law says.

They'll tell you as they don't want any trouble if you aren't getting or taking what you are entitled to. I'm not sure if this varies state by state as I'm not American so talking to your boss is your best bet so they can lay it out properly.
