the electric cigarette (science report)

Question Posted Saturday September 25 2010, 7:05 pm

okay so i'm a smoker and the e-cig sounds really awesome, since its a lot healthier, i'll be able to smoke wherever, whenever, and there's no tarbuildup or anything. but EVERYTHING has some downside to it. does anyone know a downside to smoking the e-cig? there has to be one, there always is.

thanks.

here's the downside: THEY ARE NOT REGULATED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION. thats pretty big. when I looked them up a while ago for going on long range patrols (no smoke/light, perfect for the combat environment), I found out that the Department of Defense was in the process of banning them.
think about that. the biggest group of self-destructive alcoholics in the United states thinks E-cigs are dangerous.

food for thought.

Apparently there are some serious risks involved:

Then again, there are some serious risks involved in smoking. I guess it just goes to show that there's no easy way.

You can't smoke it on a plane despite popular belief, and they're not approved/tested by the FDA. And they're banned in Canada. But who cares about Canada... they're lucky we don't enact Manifest Destiny Vol. II: Northward.
