i don't understand. i have never worn tampons, had sex, or rode horses (or much bikes for that matter). and i am able to put a finger in. where is it? is it possible to be born without one?

There is a hole in the hymen in healthy females. This is so that vaginal secretions (like your natural lubrication and menstrual blood from your period) can be expelled and not back up into your body.

It's normal to be able to put at least a finger in.

Some women have very elastic hymens that will stretch to fit a whole penis in them without tearing or breaking the first few times.

Being born without a hymen is very possible but it isn't as common as you'd think. It's likely you do have one though.
