My friend just taught me how to do this same exact thing too! Its really easy.

1. Take your hair as if you were putting it into a pony tail. Instead of hair tying it, twist the pony tail to either the right or left and just start snipping the ends. (REMEMBER TO SNIP DOWN)

2. Untwist, and repeat, twisting it the opposite way.

Let me know how everything turns out!

if you comb your hair straight out you can cut it at an angle toward your head to create layers. the choppy look comes from pointing scissors straight up and down and cutting in different places.
