Weight loss and protein

Question Posted Thursday August 26 2010, 10:56 am

I am 6'0 and now weigh 237(I know it's alot) I've always been overweight but not obese and legit, most of my weight honestly does come from my natural muscle and the fact that I legit am big boned.(which I know sounds odd and maybe fake to you but if you saw me you would know, not that I'm a giant or anything but I'm just bigger) but as a girl i have lost 15 pounds already from mildly excersising and drasticly changing how I eat. Now to lose weight do you need alot of protein in your diet or is that mostly just for building muscle?and I wand to work out and stuff but don't really want to gain muscle .

Ah well , protein is made to building and repairing muscle tissue and it's more directed to muscles which makes them bigger probabaly right? So you want to lose the weight , but not gain muscle? Hm , that's hard to do , but i'd say don't go big resistences when your on some excerisise machine , go to some classes like yoga , polaties(pilates) and also do a lot of walking and running and some stretches. This might also help you , [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) .
It gives some advice on what you are aiming for more. My advice to you is you can still eat/drink protein , but not too much and be aware it helps your muscles , your weight you need to do more things that loses you up , like walking ,running , jogging , and other things.
Good luck girl : )
