what about maturity?

Question Posted Friday August 20 2010, 6:26 pm

hi melody...my name is aaron, aka bigdogdaddy; i read your answer to the girl's question about not knowing how to make love or sex or being lost altogether...granted it's good but what about the consequences if she gets pregnat by him? is she emotionally ready, financially ready...you make it sound like it's a hop and a skip and a jump to happyville....i agree with 90% of your advice but i think you really needed to add about the aftermath if there is an oops involved...

best wishes, take care...

Melody answered Saturday August 21 2010, 6:55 pm:
If it came off as a hop and a skip and a jump to happyville, then that was unintentional. Perhaps I should have elaborated more on the consequences.

However I have been on this site for about six years, and I have found the "preachier" someone's advice is, the less likely the person asking the question is to take it. They come off with a response such as "that's not what I asked, rated 1" or "thanks but your not my mom, don't preach to me, rated 1" so nothing gets resolved and I have completely missed the target on reaching them.

I try to get as much information as I can about pregnancy, STD's, etc. out and hope they don't think I am trying to talk them out of sex, as that's not what I am doing. If they are asking about sex, they are more than likely going to have sex. All I can do is give them advice on how to be safe and hope they take it.

If you feel the person should get more advice on the aftermath of sex, such as dealing with a pregnancy, feel free to answer the question yourself as it was asked to the pool and not just myself.

Thanks for your opinion! :)
