I really want an emo hairstyle to sort of "reinvent" myself. Im not exactly sure, its more of a "scene" hairstyle. Y'know, where the hair is long, with bangs that cover one eye, and it seems to be straight and thin at the bottom, and the top layer is layered short. I dont have a printer, so I cant print it out to show any hair stylists. I actually cut my own hair, so I would prefer to do it myself. I would need step-by-step instuctions on how to do it. Any help??
basically to do your hair you can do it however you want, just making a lot of layers and having them go shorter at the top.. it's your choice how choppy you want them, how short, and how many layers you want. the best thing is there's really no way to mess it up, the crazier sometimes the better, it's your own hairstyle but sometimes the shorter the better.
once your hairstyle is done, there are tooons of things you can do.
you will mainly need hair pomade, a straigtener and/or blowdrier, STRONG hairspray, and a comb.
other things that can help your hair are a teasing comb, a volumizer you put in while your hair is wet, and something to put through your hair that protects it against heat damagage.you can get any of this at a drugstore, or you might already have them.
what you do after with your hairstyle is so free as well, i usually put the volumizer and heat protecting cream in my wet hair first, then blow dry and straiten it to my likings..it's all abut experimenting and then doing what you want!
then i put the pomade in my hair so it is stickier and holds when i start to tease my hair.. if you don't know how to tease your hair here is a site for you..

after teasing my hair i spray it all to hold it, i then tease other parts of my hair and spray them down again, adding more pomade if needed.
there are various ways to do this just experiment and have fun! (;
also when you;re done you can put many things in your hair or to hold your bangs up some days that are very scene
like colorful bows or bobby pins..
