Fixing my Zune library?

Question Posted Thursday August 12 2010, 3:51 am

I recently made the switch from ipod to zune, and I'm having a bit of trouble adjusting. I have two major issues..

1) Only some of my itunes library automatically transferred into my zune. I tried locating the files to manually move them, and now they're all missing. Only some will still even play in itunes.

2) When I sync a compilation or a mix cd into my zune library, it files it under "Various Artists" instead of by individual band/artist names, which is really frustrating.

Is there a way to fix either or both of these problems? I got rid of my ipod because it kept messing up, but if my zune is gonna be just as much trouble, I'll feel like a complete idiot. Thanks for any advice/instruction you can give!

-Kat

I've had a Zune for years, and I love it.
I won't be much help with your first question....but about the problem where it shows up as "Various Artists" you can go in and edit the names yourself. Just click, "Edit album name" or something along those names. Then it'll come up with a whole thing with the album name, the songs, and who composed which songs.

Also, if you have a twitter...I know Zune Support has a twitter. They reply very quickly on there, and are very helpful. So if you have any trouble, just ask them a question, and they'll reply pretty fast.
