my boyfriend wants to go down on me but i'm reluctant. i just think that area in general is disgusting and i don't see why he would want to. anyone wanna give me some insight? or any advice on what to do beforehand if i cave? thanks.

If you're not ready for it, then you're not. Being sexual with someone is all about experimenting and if you're not comfortable with yourself/him, it won't be a good experience. Maybe you two have not been together long enough? Everyone tries new things at their own time, just before you cave you will be okay as long as you wash and make sure you're clean. I have never talked to a woman that didn't like oral sex unless her boyfriend wasn't very good at it lol. I felt the same way when I was experimenting but after I tried it I realized that its something enjoyable, and if he wants to take advantage of that cause sooner or later, they start not feeling like it!
