I am 13(m) and want a job when I turn 14. I am awear of child labor laws, and know that at 14 you need a workers permit or something and then at 16 you dont need one(why is that? Just curious). So my question to you is, where exactally do I get a workers permit?

Here is an example of a work permit website that tells you what you need and where to go. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). The reason beng you are not required to have a work permit at 16 is because thats the minimum age that is required to be emancipated or becoming an adult. Anyone younger isn't considered an adult and needs parental consent. Don't get me wrong, if you are not emancipated, being 16 means you are still a child.
