Yeast infection?

Question Posted Sunday July 11 2010, 7:30 pm

Okay I'm 14 years old and I have never had sex or been fingered but I have red bumps everywhere around my vagina and just everywhere down there and it itches sooooooo bad. It also burns sometimes to pee. I don't know if it's Yeast infection or what!? I don't wanna ask my mom about it, I'm to scared. Which means I can't get any type of treatment. So am I gonna die? Or have pain red itchy bumps forever and never be able to have sex?

There are so many things this could be.

It could be anything from an STD you have contracted from coming in contact with an infected item (including your own hands), a strain of HPV, a yeast infection,or any other sort of vaginal infection or disease.

There is absolutely no way to know what this is without you getting properly examined by a doctor.

Now, this is serious. Sometimes it might not seem like the symptoms are going to be too bad but the itchiness can quickly turn into pain. There is some infections that leave women with life-long pelvic pain and infertility. It's such a hard road to travel and many of these women have to be on prescription pain killers for the rest of their lives because of the severity of the pain.

This is something you should not let go any more.

It might be embarrassing to talk with your mother and the doctor but it's your health we're talking about. Getting the proper treatment now might allow you to leave a long, healthy life later. It's not something that is going away on it's own, obviously, and you body is experiencing these symptoms while it's trying to scream at you, "Something is NOT right!"

Speak with your mother first and ask her to please get you a doctor's appointment. I cannot stress how serious this could be. Simply let her know that you're having itching, discomfort, and bumps on your vaginal area. She isn't going to think you're a bad kid. Women get infections from nearly anything now.

Tell your doctor the truth when you go in. If you have done ANYTHING sexual then let him know so he knows the things you may have been at risk for.

Sometimes it's better to do something not so nice right now and get it over with than to wait and live with something horrible for the rest of your life.

You need...
...absolutely NEED...
...to see a doctor.
